2007’s conference on Higher Technical and Vocational Education of two sides of Taiwan Strait was held in Taiwan Chaoyang University of Technology from November 5 to 11. The conference was sponsored by Taiwan Chaoyang University of Technology, jointly sponsored by National Taipei University of Technology, National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, Lingtung University, Chienkuo Technology and so on. More than 100 experts and scholars as well as leaders from more than 20 universities of technology、technical and vocational colleges attended the conference. Visiting mission from SSPU consists of 9 people, including president, Mr. Hu Shougen and vice-president, Mr. Zhu Yixin.

    The opening ceremony was held on the morning of November 6 and taken charge by president of Chaoyang University of Technology, Mr. Chung-jen Chin. President Chung-jen Chin delivered a welcome speech in the ceremony. SSPU president Hu Shougen also gave a lecture on the topic of “highly value the features, emphasize the quality, and promote the continuous development of universities on a higher level.” After the theme lecture, seminar was held at three branch conference halls around the subject of “The innovation and development of technical and vocational education”.

 

    On November 6, president Hu Shougen、vice-president Zhu Yixin and other people visited Chaoyang University of Technology and were warmly welcomed by board chairman、 president and other leaders. President Hu Shougen signed cooperation agreement with Chaoyang University of Technology on behalf of SSPU and made a special trip to call on the SSPU students studying in the university.

    The closing ceremony was held on the morning of November 7. In the warm applause, president chung-jen chin handed over the ensign to the president of Beijing Union University who will undertake the next conference.

 

    During the conference, SSPU visiting mission also visited Chaoyang University of Technology、Yinlin University of Science and Technology and Taipei University o f Technology. The conference promoted communication between cross-strait technical and vocational colleagues of educational world, and provided many precious experiences for SSPU construction and management.
