On the morning of November 6, 2007 Chinese International Industrial Exposition inaugurated at Shanghai New International Exhibition Center. Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of CPC、secretary of Shanghai City Committee, Mr. Yu Zhengsheng attended the opening ceremony, and the vice-secretary of Shanghai City Committee, mayor, Mr. Han Zheng delivered a speech at the ceremony. SSPU vice president, Mr. Hu Sheng also attended the opening ceremony as an honored guest.

 

    The exposition is sponsored by National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Information Industry, Ministry of Education, Commission of Science Technology and Industry for National Defense, Chinese Academy of Science, Chinese Academy of Engineering, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Shanghai City Government. It includes "important technique equipment exhibition", "information technique and equipment  exhibition", "Digital controlled machine tool and metal processing exhibition", "industrial automation exhibition", "energy exhibition", "environmental protection technique and equipment exhibition" and "science and technology innovation exhibition" seven exhibition areas.

 

    There are 51 universities attending the exhibition. SSPU exhibited 6 science and technology results from School of Mechanical & Electronic Engineering, School of Electronics and Electrical Engineering and School of City Construction and Environmental Engineering.
