On May 5 2008, the opening ceremony of Ministry of Commerce "African officials' Urban Construction and Plan Management Seminar" was solemnly held at room 201 in SSPU Library. The seminar was sponsored by Shanghai Foreign Trade Co., LTD which was trusted by Ministry of Commerce of the PRC and undertaken by SSPU.

 

    Section chief Zheng Hong from Shanghai Foreign Economic Relation & Trade Commission、general secretary Deng Qinmin from Shanghai Association of International Economic & Technological Cooperation、deputy secretary-general He Xiaoying from Shanghai Association of International Economic & Technological Cooperation、deputy manager Zhu Zhu from Shanghai Foreign Trade Co., LTD、 SSPU Secretary of the Party Committee Xu Peili、SSPU president Hu Shougen、vice-president Hu Sheng、deans from the Schools and so on attended the ceremony.

 

    The ceremony was presided over by vice-president Hu Sheng and assistant manager Zheng Yufeng from Shanghai Foreign Trade Co., LTD. Section chief Zheng Hong、deputy manager Zhu Zhu and presient Hu Shougen delivered welcome speeches on the ceremony respectively. Students of the advanced study and training class also took the floor one after another on the ceremony.

 

    After the ceremony, the students visited SSPU campus, and started the study in the School of City Construction & Environment. The class totally has 43 government officials from 27 African countries, among those 22 have already checked in and attended the opening ceremony. The students will have English lessons given by related experts and professors of SSPU and will go to Jiangsu and Qinhai province to investigate city’s construction and plan. The students will complete the study on June 3.
