| WACE Asia Pacific Conference on Work-Integrated Learning 2006
WACE (World Association for Cooperative Education) is a kind of occupation-oriented education modal , integrating study and work , cooperated by universities and colleges, students and work units. WACE Asia Pacific Conference on Work -Integrated Learning 2006, Organized by World Association for Cooperative Education Shanghai Second Polytechnic University,Co-organized by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Swinburne University of Technology, will focus on the exchange of experience and work placements on work-integrated learning between East and West to promote global education cooperation. Individual national experience and problems in the development of work-integrated learning will be presented and discussed. Opportunities will be given for representatives of different countries to compare and share their experiences. The conference wishes to provide a discussion and exchange platform on following themes:
1. The government role in the development of work-integrated learning.
2. Mutual benefits between university and industry in work-integrated learning.
3.Challenges and opportunities for work-integrated learning in Asia.
4. Comparison between East and West on work-integrated learning.
5.The feasible way of placement exchange between countries
The WACE Asia Conference on Work-integrated Learning will be a great opportunity for China to make our best contribution to facilitate the exchange and exploration on international cooperative education in the new century. This conference is also a great opportunity for participants from many different countries to strengthen our cooperation in economic and technological development, better utilizing the market, technology and human resources from East and West, and enhancing industrial competitive competences of our countries.
The conference , held in the last week of June 2006 from June 24 to 28, will be held on the new campus of Shanghai Second Polytechnic University. It is located in Shanghai¡¯s Pudong New Development Area where 2001 APEC Senior Officials Meeting (SOM) was held and 2010 Expo is being prepared. As a host, SSPU takes charge of theses¡¯ collecting , auditing and compling.
